I've moved!

Hi there blogger friends (is there anyone still out there?! Haha!)

WOW, has it really been 3 years since my last entry! I know, I'm so bad.

I pretty much stopped blogging because I felt as if I was just rambling on, with nothing really important to say. What is the use of posting gibberish to a blog that you're not really proud of?

Well I have some great news for you! I have moved to bigger things in my life than gibberish! My family and I have decided to pack up all of our belongings and sell/donate what we don't need and sail away on a sailboat into the beautiful waters of the Bahamas and Caribbean.

That's right folks, we are moving onto a sailboat.

I have started a new blog/website on wordpress, started a YouTube Channel, made a Facebook page and a Twitter account to document all of our travels and the preparations leading up to it!

If you like, please follow us on our journey! Below are the links to our NEW sites!

So I hope that you will join us on this journey! If you want more from THIS blog, (Little Mrs. Sunshine) let me know! I'll see what I can do. ;) See you around, Cheers!

YAY! For Apple Pie!

My toddler and I made a delicious apple pie this morning! YAY! I wish I had my good camera but it's up in the craft building WAY up there, (see that building in the back? More to come on that later, we JUST finished it!)

and I dont really want to walk up there when I have this delicious apple pie staring me in the face. :)

(After it was baked)

So my point and shoot will have to do..... Look at how delicious that is. UMM..... I really failed on taking "in the making" photos, so you will just have to be OK with a before baked and after baked picture.

(before it was baked)

Sorry gals, better luck next time.

I used this cute little star toy of my daughters to cut out the center since all my cookie cutters are too big for pies. I got the idea from one of my besties, Jaclyn at The Crunchy Poser here is her blog.

I got the recipe HERE... and just bought walmart brand pie crusts.. I do have a toddler, making FOR REAL pie crust just takes too much time on a beautiful Saturday morning. Molly liked helping with the pie. Next time I will be making a blueberry pie, and will make sure I take more pictures. :)

I think someones ready for some pie.

Happy Saturday all!

Molly's Birthday

So I did a rainbow theme for Molly's 2nd birthday party.

It was SO much fun to plan and put together! The party was fun too. :)

Here are just a few photos I had time to take. My sister-in-law was my "Official Photographer" and she is an AWESOME photographer. So I will be able to post more later once I get those from her.

I made these Rainbow cupcakes! Aren't they awesome!

DIY Hair Bows

So I've been doing a lot of fun projects for Molly's 2nd Birthday Party that's next weekend.

Her Birthday Party Theme is going to be Rainbows, and I am super excited!

I am making bows for the little girls that come to party as party favors.

Here is the tutorial....

First collect your ribbon, buttons, and anything else you might want on your bows.

Then you will also want to collect some hot glue, scissors, bobby pins and barrettes.

I am going to show you how to make the white and yellow "flower" bows in the top photo.

First you will cut 3 strips of ribbon- it doesn't matter what length, just cut them so that when they are folded in half, they will be the size of bow you want.

Then you will need to hot glue your strips into circles, then glue the centers together to make a figure 8.

Next glue two of the "8's" together like in the picture.

Then glue the last "8" through the middle like so.

Glue your button on the center of the front.

Glue the finished bow into the end of a clip.

And your done!

You can also put these bows on a bobby pin. Here's how you do that.

Cut a small piece of the ribbon you used for the bow.

Place it in between the top and bottom pieces of the bobby pin. No need to glue it until the next step.

Place a dot of glue on the back of the bow and push the pin into the glue, the small piece of ribbon will act as a barrier between the glue and the top piece of the bobby pin so it doesn't get glued down.

Stuck in my head.

This song has been stuck in my head for months. I love it. It's my favorite.

"Life Got In The Way"
Sister Hazel
We knew it all from a little thing
It was everything in our first minute
And it took us to another place
Yeah another place and we fell in it
How dare you not remember
How dare you walk away
We adored every little thing
Every little thing would leave us breathless
Every dawn spelled another day
And in another day we weren't so restless
How dare you not remember
How dare you walk away

[Chorus](My favorite part)

And I wanted you so much
Just like I do right now
I wanted us to be the one the poets write their books about
I wanted it to last
I wanted to grow old
But life got in the way

We walked around in a heavy haze
We were stuck in days of so much warring
We got lost in a tricky maze
Yeah a tricky maze that was so scarring
How come you can't remember
How dare you walk away
Then you start to add the little things
Add the little things and trip the mighty
Now we got a little bitter thing
A little bitter thing that grew like ivy
And how dare you not remember
How dare you walk away

[Chorus]

And apathy grows quietly where rapture used to fly
And promises and certainty have left love here to die
Won't you stay and don't let this one fall away

[Chorus]
[Chorus]

Yeah well life got in the way

Catching Up. Day 18, 19, 20 and 21

I had a crazy weekend. Friday I went out with the girls.  Saturday was date night with the Husby. Sunday was WARRIOR DASH! So... Here I am catching up.

Day 18: The Meaning of my Blog name.

Little Mrs. Sunshine:  Well growing up, my mom and dad would call me their Sunshine and it kinda stuck.  When I worked as a camp counselor that's what the kids would call me. The Mrs. part is, well, because I'm married.

Day 19: What do I collect?

Bouncy Balls and Scrapbook supplies/paper mostly. I also collect beads, and supplies for making jewelry. I collect fabric for sewing too. Charms on my charm bracelet.

Day 20: A difficult time in my life

The most difficult thing I have had to deal with is losing my dad to cancer. It was so hard to lose someone so close to me. Someone who I thought I had many more years with. Just the thought that my kids would never meet him. The thought that he would never see my sisters get married. The thought that we would never go on another Family Vacation together. Dad was a constant in my life that I never wanted to lose so quickly.

Day 21: My 10 favorite foods.

I could probably go on and on about my favorite foods. I love food. It was really hard to pick just 10. I kinda cheated by putting "meals" together.

1. Steak and Mashed Potatoes
2. Bananas
3. Pancakes and Crispy Bacon
4. Cheeseburger with lettuce and ketchup
5. Chocolate, Ice cream, apple pie, brownies, anything sweet actually
6. Pot Roast
7. Chili and corn bread
8. Peanut Butter
9. Strawberries and bananas
10.  Pizza

I'll have to catch up on my photo challenge later.. So much catching up to do, not only in the blogging world, but in the "my house is a complete disaster" world. Ugh. That's life right?

Day 17: My proudest moment and workout

My Proudest moment

I have two.
The day I married my love Ben, and the day I gave birth to my sweet baby girl Molly.

Ben and I got married on the beach in Tybee Island Georgia. Just me, Ben, the preacher, and the photographer. What a fantastic day!

The day Molly was born was unbelievable. My water broke at 6:30AM and she was born at 5:30PM. We had a home birth. Yes on purpose. (That's usually the first question everyone asks when we say that.) I labored in bed for a while, and I labored in the birthing pool for a while and then Molly was born on our living room couch.

Day 14: If I won the Lottery and Favorite Sport

If I won the lottery:

We always think about what we would do if we won the lottery.

Me, I would pay off my house, my mom's house, build a giant new YMCA for my town with a huge fund to take care of it. I would put money away for Molly. I would become a stay at home mom. Give some to my sisters and my in-laws.  I would enjoy my life with my family. I would give to charities, I could do so many great things.

Day 14 of Photo a Day May: My Favorite Sport

Gymnastics- didn't actually get to take a real photo of gymnastics today, so a photo of a photo will have to do.

Day 13: Earliest Memory and Hands

First, I would like to say Happy Mothers Day to all the moms reading my blog! I hope that yours was as fantastic as mine!

My Earliest Memory

That's really hard. I have a lot of memories from when I was a kid, but I don't know what my earliest memory is. SO......... I'll just tell you some of my favorites.

I was learning to ride my bike, and my older cousin was helping. I told him, "Don't let go." Well he let go, and I smashed into the neighbors mailbox.

I remember a birthday where I was wearing my favorite dress. We called it the 'Cat Dress'. My best friend gave me a birthday pin to wear with a bunch of pieces of gum tied to it.

I remember swimming in the pool at my grandmothers house, with my cousin (the one who let me hit the mailbox) teaching me how to dive into the deep end.

I remember my ballet and gymnastics classes at the Rec Department.

I remember when mom would take us to the library and we would pick out our favorite books.

I remember playing in the hot Florida heat in the sprinkler during the summers.

I remember making mud pies in my back yard and making my sisters taste them.

I remember falling out of my favorite climbing tree (more than once)

I remember riding my bike to school.

Day 13 of Photo a Day May: My Hands

Day 12 Photo a Day May: Fishy Face

Day 11: 15 of my favorite things and Family Generation

15 of my favorite things
(in no particular order)

1. Sweets
Anything Chocolate, or anything with peanut butter

2. Running
Even though I get bored really quickly, I just love to set my ipod to my workout mix and go for as long as my brain will let me before it starts to drift onto other things.

3. Taking pictures
I took some photography classes in college and I absolutely love taking pictures. I wish I could do more with it.

4. Being a mother/my daughter Molly
Before I became pregnant, I really didn't have the drive to be a mother. I was happy and content with the way things were with my husby. Then one day, it hit me like a ton of bricks, I had the baby fever. And nothing was going to stop me, even my husby who didn't feel the same. Now we are totally in love with our sweet girl and it's the greatest feeling in the world!

5. Scrapbooking, sewing, beading, anything crafty
I started scrapbooking and making jewelry in the 6th grade. I love it.

6. Birthdays
I LOVE birthdays! I can't wait till Molly is old enough to help me plan giant elaborate theme birthday parties.

7. The Beach
I would live on the beach in a tiny little shack if I could. I love being in the sun and the smell of the ocean. I love sitting on the sand and looking out at the waves and relaxing.

8. My Husband
He is the sweetest man alive and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

9. Family and Friends
My family and friends are super important to me. The people in your lives are there to help you and support you and guide you. They are there to listen to you, and tell you that your making mistakes. They are there to love you and care for you no matter what the circumstances are. They are there to be loved and cherished for who they are.

10. Cooking/Food
I love food. I love to eat and I love to cook.

11. Netflix
I am addicted. Especially to Vampire Diaries, How I met your Mother and Bones. Don't judge.

12. Camping
I love the outdoors. Camping is one of my favorite outdoor activities.

13. Holidays
Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween would have to be my favorite holidays.

14. Pink and Teal
Need I say more?

15. Music and Reading
Technically this is 2 answers, but I couldn't decide which one I liked more. I love to read. It's so great to sit in a hot bubble bath and read a good book. I also love music. ALL kinds of music. I have a special place in my heart for the different types of music that I like because each genre/artist has a different meaning to me. For example: Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney will always hold a special place in my heart because my friend Wendy and I listened to them NON STOP the summer of 2003 when we were working at camp in the Dish Pit.  Tonic, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, will hold that special place when I spent the summer going to concerts weekend after weekend in Atlanta with my friend Ashley. Fergie and Justin Timberlake (again, don't judge) (among others) is what gets me through the first few miles of my runs.

***********************************

Day 11 of Photo a Day May: Family Generations

My mother-in-law came to pick up Molly today to take her to spend the night.
That's her, my husband and Molly. Three generations together.

P.S I MIGHT MISS YOU TOMORROW. WE ARE GOING TO STAY WITH MY MOM IN ATL FOR THE WEEKEND. :)

Day 10: My best physical feature and something I think of daily.

My best physical feature:

I asked my hubby because I don't think that I have any good physical features. I have a very hard time feeling pretty sometimes. This post is very hard for me.

SO...............

My hubby says it's my butt. Of course, what hubby wouldn't say that about his wife.

I asked for a more serious answer and he said my eyes and that I have a cute nose.

Day 10 of photo a day May: Something I think of Daily

My dad; who passed away from pancreatic cancer on September 28, 2006.
